MOFO Linux 8.3.0 Released

Greetings, friends.

MOFO Linux version 8.3.0 is uploading now, with an expected completion time of about 2023/02/21 - 1820 UTC. This update addresses some minor bug fixes, window manager adjustments, and other small improvements.

Most noticeable changes to the i3 Window Manager is the automatic show / hide behavior of the terminal and file manager. They now reside mostly on the scratchpad, once opened. You use the hot keys to open them, and the same keys hit again will stow those windows out of sight, on the scratchpad. It means they appear almost instantly when you want them, and they can be made to vanish quickly too (still open, but out of the way).

A new "SDR map" is now installed, which will open a live map in the browser with currently available WebSDR and KiwiSDR radio servers. Click on the green or light red ones for best results. Yes - your MOFO Linux system is the ultimate Mediumwave / Shortwave radio. Especially when your local stations are either noisy or have crap programming, you can find real signals somewhere else (almost ANYWHERE else).

I cleaned up a lot of changed and dead SDR radio links in Vivaldi. The site operators can never seem to set up on a domain or IP address and stay there. To make things more consistent for us MOFO Linux users, a link to an auto-updating list is set up in Vivaldi's home page. Also, you have the freshened SDR-Streams [Super + S] and regular internet radio [Shift + Super + D] to bring in a curated list of online stations - direct from their studios, static free.

Enjoy MOFO Linux 8.3.0! This one put some shine on things other than VPNs and circumvention tools. I firmly believe that when you break holes in the walls and free yourselves, you need somewhere to go and something to make the effort worthwhile. This system will move to version 9 soon, very likely to be on one of the rolling and immutable systems you may have seen recently.

Cheers,
PC / MOFO Linux
