Here's the new version of Moebius Linux for Raspberry Pi, here's the changelog:
- Support for both 256Mb and 512Mb boards
- New configuration files structure with major improvements on partition 1 (Broadcom and RPi Foundation specs)
- Overclocking capabilities are enabled by default
- Linux Kernel v3.6.11, ARM HF platform, armv6l
- Downloadable compressed image resized down to 170Mb, smaller but better
- Updated package repository (raspbian, ARM-HF), huge repository with .deb packages
- Python included in the standard image due to a lot of requests from users
- Configuration utility name changed to "moebius.config"
- DHCP enabled on boot
- It fits on every SD card starting from 1Gb. No matter about hw manufacturer, real image size when uncompressed it's about ~600Mb (so it will fit on everything), previous one was bigger
- Swap space (if needed) it's calculated as a small percentage of the size of the SD card
- A full running system at startup takes about 25-30Mb of RAM, the remaining part of the memory is for you and your applications
- Root FS autoresize feature improved, you may resize your root partition on a running system to fit the whole disk on the fly, automatically from moebius.config utility, no manual intervention required. This new version relies on fdisk and resize2fs, no more parted utility
- Expecially targeted for small servers or embedded appliances, if you want a desktop distro please take something else
- Username: root, default password: raspi, for safety reasons please change password to something else after your first boot
