Dear All,
I am working toward making Modules a Linux Foundation
(https://www.linuxfoundation.org/) project and joining the High
Performance Software Foundation (HPSF, https://hpsf.io/) umbrella.
You can read and follow Modules application here:
https://github.com/hpsfoundation/tac/issues/22
Why doing that? First of all, is to make the project neutral and
define a clear and transparent governance. I hope this will help to
attract more contributors. Also being part of a well-known neutral hub
for high performance software (HPSF) will help to be more visible and
have more people interested in the project.
The "Technical Charter" of the project is currently being drafted with
the Linux Foundation. You can read the current draft version here:
https://modules.readthedocs.io/en/latest/CHARTER.html. Modules
governance is adapted to match this charter:
https://modules.readthedocs.io/en/latest/GOVERNANCE.html. If you have
comments, feel free to express them here.
One key point is to run this project as a group of people, rather just
me. So I am looking for people willing to join the maintainer group of
Modules project.
One last thing I would like to clarify, is that these changes are not
done because I am quitting the project or because CEA does not support
it anymore. Nothing is changing there and I am still strongly
motivated to make Modules project progress further.
Best regards,
Xavier
