Hello All,
Modules 4.8.0 is here with many new stuff included. This release is a
major step forward with the introduction of 'module variants', the
ability to pass arguments to evaluating modules (e.g., module load
foo/2.1+debug toolchain=a). It is as usual backward-compatible with
previous version 4 releases and primarily adds features and fixes
bugs. Major new features introduced in v4.8.0 since v4.7 are:
* Editing modulefiles
* Using version range in version list
* Try module load with no complain if not found
* Module variants
* Variant shortcuts
Details on these features included in this new release are provided in
the MIGRATING document. The list of all changes made in this new
version are described in the NEWS document.
