Thanks to all of you who responded, I can tell that there is much interest
in modules (and other tools like modules).
I ended up using a 2.2beta binary that somebody else in my company compiled
for Solaris 2.4 (it works for 2.5.1 too). It lacks some features of
3.0beta, but it seems fairly stable.
Here is some info about other tools that people mentioned:
LUDE at http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/contrib/lude/lude2_toc.html; this looks
interesting but more than I want to tackle right now...
cmod at http://www.lysator.liu.se/cmod; sounds good, but some of our
modules use TCL code that this wouldn't currently support
Thanks,
- Mark

I have various problems with modules and would love it if someone picked up
development of them again; but this is a common thread here.
I have downloaded Modules-3.0Beta and it gives me many problems with
"module list". I've tried applying patch1-flan and patch2-flan and those
fixed some problems with "module avail". But, I still get an incorrect
list with "module list".
Does anybody have well-working/well-tested static modulecmd binary for
Solaris 2.5 that I could download?
Thanks,
- Mark
