And here I was thinking this was a shell thing. I guess I should have=20
known better from the fact that the value is set as a kernel constant.

If reducing @INC to the set of unique and existent entries doesn't do=20
the trick, maybe you could create a temp (or _build) file with a bunch=20
of 'use lib' statements and -Mthat instead?
If the longness comes from parameters, you could try xargs, but that=20
seems bound to cause trouble.
