Ken,

You definitely want to use 0.58+ for your prereqs.

For a couple of 0.5x releases there were Spiffy deps etc, but that's all been
resolved. Now YAML.pm requires no extra deps.

Also with 0.58 I can fix bugs and turn around releases in short order (well
depending on the bug ;)
