On approximately 1/13/2004 12:59 AM, came the following characters from the keyboard of Glenn Linderman: > Especially, because I still don't know why people are fixing and > discussing > 100 character pathnames, when my test case that fails > doesn't have any! Any progress on this point yet? I've been away for a few days, but didn't see any new traffic on the topic. >> p.s. please /please/ stop sending me all emails twice, thanks Someone observing these discussions figured out the problem here, and informed me of it. In the interest of helping solve the root cause, I describe the problem and solution here. When you are addressed as "ka...@cp..." you then reply from "ka...@dw...", and don't elide your own (apparently alias) from the Cc: list. That winds up putting both "ka...@cp..." and "ka...@dw..." into the To: or Cc: list of people that then reply-all to your message. You need teach your mail client to reply from the same address via which the message arrived... or teach it to elide your own aliases from the To: and Cc: lists. Putting the burden of your own deficient mail client configuration on everyone else to resolve isn't likely to reduce your duplicate incoming email significantly. -- Glenn -- http://nevcal.com/ =========================== The best part about procrastination is that you are never bored, because you have all kinds of things that you should be doing. |
