Such a name is much too long, in my opinion, for this module of interest. I believe that you have my test case, and can see that there are no files with names > 100 chars. If the problems with PowerArchiver (and other utilities) seeing pathnames are related to pathnames that are longer than 100 characters, why are those other utilities having problems displaying the directory names from the output of A::T when the pathnames are less than 100 characters? I think we are still missing something here. >> Along the way, PowerArchiver 2001 isn't able to see the pathnames. > > well, nothing changed yet :) OK, I understand that. I didn't necessarily expect that anything would change, without corresponding fixes to M::B, but wanted to do due diligence and find out. Especially, because I still don't know why people are fixing and discussing > 100 character pathnames, when my test case that fails doesn't have any! Not that it isn't an interesting discussion, and not that the fixes won't be welcome, of course, as from all accounts that I've heard, some improvements can be made. > p.s. please /please/ stop sending me all emails twice, thanks Could you please clarify if you are subscribed to receive all the module-build-general messages? I'm under the understanding that you are not, and using that understanding, you only seem to appear in my list of addressees once, for this message, and every other message that I've sent. -- Glenn -- http://nevcal.com/ =========================== The best part about procrastination is that you are never bored, because you have all kinds of things that you should be doing. |
