Yup, we're going to do that for future releases of Module::Build.   
The CPANPLUS team decided to turn over maintenance of their  
CPANPLUS::Dist::Build module to us for that specific reason.  It's  
actually not clear yet whether this will require new M::B features or  
whether it can just be solved with a new CPANPLUS::Dist::Build release.
