Dear all,
I came across this scenario today:

…τῶν προτάσεων συνθέ-
</align>
<align system="CAG" id="II.1.2">σεως ἐκ τῶν τιθεμένων…

So the editor ended the page in the middle of the word, continuing the word on the next page. To indicate that the word is unfinished, he used the usual device of appending a hyphen to the beginning of the word. No surprises there.

If I want to enter the <align> element correctly into the text, I would have to (remove the hyphen?) add it in the middle of the word, thus:

…τῶν προτάσεων συνθέ</align><align system="CAG" id="II.1.2">σεως ἐκ τῶν τιθεμένων…

If, however, someone wanted to search for συνθέσεως, would the intervening mark-up affect the search? My guess is probably that it wouldn't, but I'm no expert.
