=2D----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 hello, i created notificationframework & modelingcore (& cheetahtemplate) debian=20 packages for my private use and thought that you may be interested in=20 including the required changes into the main distribution. (the only change= =20 would be a new subdirectory (including some files) called 'debian' which=20 gives debian users the possibility to automatically create binary packages = by=20 calling the 'dpkg-buildpackage' command). i'm not a debian developer nor did i create any debian packages before, so= =20 it's possible that there are some bugs, etc. - it works well on my system. the only small problem i noticed is that the modelingcore packages for different python versions conflict, because they share the same files in /usr/bin/ (e.g. 'mdl_generate_python_code.py'). (the cheetahtemplate packag= es=20 currently have the same problem.) the required files are available at http://s2.enemy.org/~gst/misc/ - to cre= ate=20 debian packages the 'debian' directory has to be moved into the root=20 directory of the respective source distribution. binary packages are created for following python versions: 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 i only tested it on debian testing/unstable. to create debian woody packages the only required change should be to disable the creation of a binary package for python 2.3. (because the python-modelingcore package depends on python-cheetahtemplate,= i=20 mailed the cheetahtemplate people too about a debianized version of=20 cheetahtemplate.) cu /gst =2D----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE/U0+RZtF7I/+gjcERAruYAJ0ZZcDZlFSmO9RPqp0cx6E0YZlemwCfb3+J 1TJwNvjvMMlLL9o8P6VY1D4=3D =3DI0bE =2D----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

Hi,
Hey! This is very interesting ; I've downloaded the files and I'll
have a look at them in the next coming days. I'll probably have a look
to the debian howtos as well, it's something I plan to do for such a
loooong time ;)
The pb. with binaries conflicting in /usr/bin could be annoying,
sometimes you really need different python versions installed at the
same time, but we'll see, there must be solutions.
Would you possibly consider maintaining these files if we integrate this
in CVS and use them to distribute debian packages as well?
Thanks a lot for sharing,
-- S=E9bastien.

Thanks for your work, and for the updates. I'll have a look at the new
files and we'll discuss this when you're back.
'Till then, have nice holidays :)
