I have several apache virtual hosts each accepting POST's in different formats.
I am using mod_security to do concurrent request logging.
Part of sanity check is to either look for a particular header or an
XML field in the request body.
I want to add this "request identity" that I have extracted from the
request in the audit log index.
I found no way of setting any variable that would augment the "audit
log" index with extra fields.
I also could not figure out how to over load "remote_user" field in
the audit_log index that I am now using.
To get around this problem, I extract the identity (header or from
request body) and then use setenv to set an environment var.
I use this var is the standard apache access log along with the unique ID.
This way I have a way to tie requests from a specific identity to
unique request ID.
The apache access log *does not* give me the path to the actual file
where the request contents are logged.
Can someone tell me how to address this situation ?
