[mod-security-users] Does the expirevar work on modsec v3?

Hi folks
Quick question, Does the expirevar work on modsec v3?

The problem is that I am trying to stop brute force attacks, and when a IP
is determined as an attacker it will be blocked forever. It seems that
expirevar is not working.

P.S. Am using modsec V3 + nginx
