Hello every one, I am new in this list and a new user of mod_security. Thanks the developers for creating mod security.

Today, I am trying to install mod security version 2.7.5 with apache 2.4.6 in a server with CentOS 6.4 as Operating System with 32 bits. When I execute ./configure no error is shown however when make is executed this error occurs:

/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lexpat
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [mod_security2.la] Error 1
make[1]: *** [all] Error 2
make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1

Hi Lazaro,

Have you tried installed the expat-devel package:
yum install expat-devel

the configure command executed is:

./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache2/mod_security/ --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs --with-apr=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apr-1-config --with-apu=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apu-1-config --enable-docs --enable-debug-conf

Attached is the output of configure.

Any help for solving this issue would be appreciated.

Thank you very much for your attention.
Regards.
