Using OpenBSD 3.2 with the default Apache/1.3.26,
mod_perl/1.26 and mod_gzip/1.3.26.1a. When using the
default configuration file provided, mod_gzip.log is
generated, but will never actually be populated with
information.

This includes logs generated to indicate the status of
compression or warnings that would indicate that
pre-compressed.gz files have been updated. In fact,
other then the creation of the file itself, there seems
to be no access to it.

What kind of logging string do you use? This seems not to be a mod_gzip
problem. Mod_gzip uses the ap_* functions to log requests.
