I hacked up auth_pam for 2.0 to authn_pam for 2.1, but I can't get it to
authenticate me on my FreeBSD machine.  

By my reading of the code, it should operate just like it did in 2.0, but
maybe I missed somthing.(or it just doesn't work in FreeBSD?)

After a quick googling it looks like FreeBSD won't authenticate unless Apache
is running as root. sounds lame. I will have to investigate later.

anyways. testing of the authn_pam code would be cool on a Linux Platform.
