#1 Problem with source code

I have discovered two bugs.

1. When I un-tar the files in OSX the <? and ?> within
the files becomes <% and %> respectively.

2. When I get all of that dealt with and modify PHP.INI
to turn on globals (btw. there should be a sample
PHP.INI file as well). I get the following error message

Warning setcookie () expects parameter 3 to be long,
string given in common.php3 on line 41

Warning Cannot modify header information, headers
already sent by common.php3:41 in confirm.php3 line
