Covalent Technologies is pleased to announce they are adopting mod_aspdotnet once again. Created by Covalent in 2002, the project was open sourced in 2004 at the Apache Software Foundation. Since then, there were not sufficient Windows/.NET users to sustain the effort at that home, so Covalent has moved development of the module to it's new home here at Sourceforge.
The project, while sponsored by Covalent and hosted by Sourceforge, will continue to operate under the same principals as httpd development. The license will remain ASL 2.0.
We welcome you to our new home, and to let you know where things stand so far...
* the ASF subversion repository is migrated to SF's subversion (kudos to Garrett and Max for their assistance and brainstorming!)
* mod-aspdotnet-svn@lists.sourceforge.net is now tracking commit activity.
* mod-aspdotnet-devel@lists.sourceforge.net now exists for development discussion.
* mod-aspdotnet-users@lists.sourceforge.net now exists for end user discussion.
The next steps...
* Covalent will host the project's 'home pages' for users to refer to (synced to svn here), while downloads will be provided and tracked using SF's mirror schema.
* The package needs to be rebranded from ASF -> mod-aspdotnet project home.
* The copyright NOTICE needs adjusting.
* A new package needs to be rolled.
And finally (most importantly?) the project needs to migrate to .NET 2005, and then to httpd's 'Proxy' schema. It will be a busy month of September, stay tuned!
