Yes, what is usually done is to use the following in the source code :
/**
* [...]
* @version $Id: $
*/
and when you do a CVS commit, CVS will expand it to something like :
/**
* [...]
* @version $Id: AbstractTestCaller.java,v 1.3 2002/03/10 18:27:26
vmassol Exp $ */
*/
Thus, there is no longer any need to copy the sources before compiling.
