[MO-java-dev] dynamic branch and merge

folks, given that some people aren't totally happy with nat's branch,
how about we start implementing the few bits we agree on in the HEAD?
For example, adding the ActiveCall object. That way we can make /some/
progress and the merge will be less painful.
