i've just found out that there is a bug in v3.00. You can't create any new favorite hubs, if there aint any favorite hubs in the list (stupid). so if you have a pure installation of mDC and no Favorites added, you can create one by first enter a hub in the public hublist and type /fav in mainchat, and that hub will be added, after that, you can create new favhubs... ehm, understandable?
