Support Requests item #1332554, was opened at 2005-10-19 17:01 Message generated for change (Settings changed) made by dr_steveb You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=772048&aid=1332554&group_id=148555 Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: None Group: None >Status: Closed Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Thomas R. Kramer (tomrkramer) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: meaning of pathIndex unclear Initial Comment: In the PrimMobJAStat class, the pathIndex is described as being "which one we're on, 0 = first one". Presumably, this refers either to the index in the arcList of a PrimMobJACmdMoveArcSegment, or to the index in the waypoint(s) of a PrimMobJACmdMoveWaypoint command, as the case may be. If the command is neither of those two, presumably the value of pathIndex has no meaning. This is clear enough when the command is not done, but it is not clear how or whether pathIndex command is set when the command is done. Is pathIndex being set to something meaningful when the command is done, and, if so, what is it set to? Either the index of the last segment or the length of the list (which is one larger than the index of the last segment) would be reasonable. If there is a choice, I strongly prefer having pathIndex being set to a meaningful value when the command is done, and I slightly prefer having that value be the index of the last segment. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=772048&aid=1332554&group_id=148555 |

Hi Dimitri, I figured out how to release your message, so that others can take advantage of your question... The moast.ini file is included with the distribution. From your log file, it should be located in /home/dyiantsi/proj/MIAA/MOAST/moast-3.1/etc If it is not there, please let me know. Thanks. Hi everyone, I'm new to USARSim/MOAST, as you can tell from my question, and I'm having a problem installing/configuring MOAST on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.5 machine. Specifically, I'm at the point where I need to edit the moast.ini file (Quick Start section of MOAST Reference Manual), but I have not been able to find a way to generate the MOAST_TOP/etc directory during the install process from moast-3.1.tar.gz. A quick search of your forum and mailing list did not turn up anything on how to generate the .ini files during a build, which makes me believe this is common knowledge except for a newbie like me. Anyway, I've attached a log file of my latest attempt to build MOAST from a tarball--just in case this is not as basic a question as it appears to be. Thanks, Dimitri |

Thomas, The automatic process for recompiling the .nml file is incorporated into the Makefile. If you are making changes to the .cfg or any of the NML header files in MOAST's include directory and you want to make sure that the modified files are recompiled run Makefile.local, e.g. $> make -f Makefile.local If you are running different robots on different hosts you can use a start-up script that alters the environment. If the HOST_NAME variable in MOAST's initialization file contains an empty string, e.g. [USARSIM.INFSKIN] HOST_NAME PORT_NUMBER=3000 PLATFORM_TYPE_1=P2DX PLATFORM_TYPE_2=P2AT PLATFORM_TYPE_3=ATRVJr PLATFORM_TYPE_4=ATRVJrBig PLATFORM_TYPE_5=HUMMER PLATFORM_TYPE_6=Submarine PLATFORM_TYPE_7=Zerg PLATFORM_TYPE_8=Talon PLATFORM_TYPE_9=TeleMax Then SIMware will look for the 'USARSimHost' in the environment. You can set this in your shell or in a start up script. For example, you can write a simple bash script that takes two arguments, the host name and the robot id. #!/bin/sh USARSimHost=$1; export USARSimHost ./simWare -I $2 -s1 -p2 & ./slamStub -I $2 & ~Chris ================================================== Chris Scrapper Computer Scientist Intelligent Systems Division National Institute of Standards and Technology 100 Bureau Drive, Mail Stop 8230 Gaithersburg, Maryland 20899 phone: 301-975-4592 fax: 301-990-9688 chr...@ni... ================================================== -----Original Message----- From: moa...@li...
