Forwarding this to the list as well! =3D( ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Sy Ali <sy...@gm...> Date: Jan 14, 2006 9:19 PM Subject: Re: [Mmucl-user] Hello lurkers To: Niklas Bolander <nik...@te...> On 1/14/06, Niklas Bolander <nik...@te...> wrote: > Now days I don't mud much (even though my friend is still trying to talk = me > into going back) and the mud I were writing is on an indefinite hiatus. > I'm still subscribed though. I got back into mudding again as an excuse to learn some programming. It's sortof working, although I've run into some interesting blocks since a mud doesn't really work like real life. =3D) Still, I've done pretty well to make mmucl do some things I never thought were possible. Tcl isn't the most intuitive language, and I'd still rather have a Ruby client, but I've tinkered with my scripting so much now that I really have mmucl doing wonderful things. |

Ack, I hate it when <reply> goes to the originator and not the list! I was holding my breath. ;) I might just dip into the cvs like the good ol' days and poke around. I'm enough of a fan that I will probably be whipping up annotated documentation/notes and such and will migrate to the "most recent" (heh) cvs version. I certainly don't know enough tcl to be peeking into the code itself. =3D) Well sourceforge isn't going anywhere.. so the mailing list and website will be up and around for a good while I should think. I haven't found any really showstopping issues with the software, so it'll do well for me for a good while. Thanks again for your work.. I'm still having fun with it. |

Hi Sy, Yup. Mmucl development has pretty much stopped. I finally put a notice on the homepage. I'm glad you liked using Mmucl. I had a lot of fun developing it. In fact I think I spent much more time on Mmucl than I did on mudding. :) Mark On 1/14/06, Sy Ali <sy...@gm...> wrote: > I figured I'd finally take a moment and sign up. I figured I'd finally take a moment and sign up. I know this mailing list has been dead for a long time but I thought I'd write a note to say hello nontheless. I know that development has ceased and that v2 is still in cvs in whatever degree of disarray it's in, but I'm still using it regularly. I was a v1 user for a while, and got into using the cvs.. then took a break. When I got back into things I went back to the stable and got into scripting. I've learned to do some pretty wild things. So who all is out there? |
