One thing that would be great is the Hotmail HTTP
protocol for e-mail, so you can check either Hotmail or
MSN e-mail accounts.
Thanks

I'll second that, although new "free" hotmail accounts
don't support Hotmail HTTP protocol. However, old accounts
(and I believe paid accounts) still do.

Nice to see G-mail support (not tried it yet).

freepops works like a dream, although it did require the
hotmailfix to work with my new free account(details on
    their website).

had to edit the "fpm.ini" file to make it start up MMM

I didn't find it the easiest thing to install, so to save
others a bit of time - when installing freepops to work
with MMM and hotmail, do the following steps:

    1) Install freepops (*see note below)

    2) download the pdf manual

    3) edit "fpm.ini" (in notepad) so that it has the following
    in it:

    100
    C:\Program Files\MMM\Magic.exe
    Magic.exe

(use the correct path to Magic.exe)

4)download the "fixed" vesion of "hotmail.lua" and
overwrite the one in the "LUA" folder

    5) Create a link to "freepopsd.vbs" (in the FreePOPs
    install folder)

    6) Create a new mailbox in MMM with:

    a) your full hotmail address as the User
    b) "localhost" as the Host
    c) enter your hotmail password
    d) set the POP3 port number to 2000

The link to "freepopsd.vbs" will now start freePOPs which
in turn will start MMM. Exiting from MMM will also shutdown
    FreePOPs.

Whilst FreePOPs is running, any other POP e-mail client can
access it, so simply use the same mailbox settings as you
used in MMM and you can download from hotmail with your pop
    client.

*Note - to install Freepops under Win98, you may need to
install wmi9x.exe (Windows Management Instrumentation) and
    Windows9x-Script56-KB917344-x86-enu.exe - WSH (Windows
    Scripting Host for Win98)

Details about this are in the "README.FPM.en.txt" file in
    your FreePOPs instalation folder
