the basic procedure is to select (by left-click) the 'source' markable, and then right-click the 'target' markable. If you set up your relation attribute correctly in the annotation scheme, you should see a popup menu which allows you to add the required relation.
What 'setting things up correctly' means depends somewhat on the type of relation: For set relations, both source and target must be on the same level, and both must have the respective set attribute. This is because set membership is a symmetric relation.
For pointer relations, on the other hand, only the source markable must have the pointer attribute. If you supplied a target 'domain' by specifying the level(s) that are valid as containers of target markables, you must make sure that the selected markable is indeed on this level(s).
It may be that the relations attributes are inaccessible because they are dependent attributes. If that is the case, the attribute triggering the availability must be set *and applied* before the dependent attribute is available. You can safe some mouse clicks here by activating the Auto-Apply functionality.
Note that there is also an option that allows you to automatically select each markable directly after its creation.
I hope this solves your problem. if not, please write again, or just supply some sample data so that I can reproduce the behaviour.
Best,
Mark-Christoph

Dear -Christoph,
I am preparing a new Bengali corpus for anaphora resolution which can be trained on BART. And I am not able figure out that how to crate the relation on the COREF markables.. If you can help me from the beginning i.e what tags need to be added before so that I can add the relations betwwen the COREF and can tell me steps one by one. Thanks in advance..For example:
<COREF ID="1">Arjun</COREF> is a good boy. <REF="1">He</REF> used to play cicket.
I have added this text from the project creation menu. After the creation of the project with COREF markables there is no popup menu which allowed me to add the required relation. Thanks again.

Did you solve this problem as you post here. I have the same problem. please help me if you know how to give relation between expression which are referent to each other and markable.

Hi,
I experienced UI problems trying to tag first named entities, then relations between them: I cannot manage to apply a relation to existing tagged NE.
Can you tell me what is the exact click procedure to do so, please?
Thanks a lot!
Karen
