[Mlterm-dev-en] variable width X font configuration

Hi,

I'd like to have a proportional X font display in MLterm.
xfontsel tells me :

-*-helvetica-medium-r-*-*-12-*-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1

in ~/.mlterm/vfont I've tried each of the following in turn:

ISO8859_1=12,-*-helvetica-medium-r-*-*-12-*-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1
ISO8859_1=12,-helvetica-medium-r-*-12-*-iso8859-1
ISO8859_1=12,-helvetica-*-medium-r-*-12-*-iso8859*
ISO10646_1=12,-helvetica-medium-r-*-12-*-iso10646-1

but mlterm -V does not bring up the desired helvetica font,
only a default mono-spaced font instead.

Checking & unchecking "Anti Alias" in the control panel will
cause the font in aafont to be selected & de-selected,
but I don't see any change when checking & un-checking
the "Variable column width" option.

This is MLterm v2.9.2 on Mac OS X 10.3.9
