I'm using the command melt followed by the .mov file. However Im not getting playback. a window flashes up momenterilly then it looks like melt crashes? This is on OSX, What can i do here?
does that mean i run ./make "/Applications/Shotcut.app/Contents/MacOS/melt ? Im not sure what your answer means. Are you closing these tickets because there not bugs? If so where else can I go for help with melt as I am new to Linux and mlt melt so I not to confident what your response means. Cheers

My answer means that the Shotcut application contains a known good build of melt, and you can simply download that app and use the melt that comes with it. Otherwise, if you are building it yourself, you can debug it yourself. Alternatively, you can try using MacPorts or Homebrew, which are open source repositories. In case you want to troubleshoot your own build, there are too many points of failure, and I do not have time to guide you through them.

Get/make a build that works correctly. For example, "/Applications/Shotcut.app/Contents/MacOS/melt" works good.
