If we are considering moving to Darwin's Mach
Kernel eventually, we need to start pulling pieces
of MkLinux into Darwin. Right now, Darwin has no
support for:
PowerPC 601
non-PCI machines.
floppy drives (motherboard HW)
I'm working on floppy support (in MkLinux CVS). If
folks are interested in working on the other pieces,
please drop me a note.

PowerPC 601 support would probably be the easiest given that a) IIRC
the 601 processor has a PowerPC superset and b) there are 601-based
PCI macs (which have Open Firmware of course).
Unfortunately I don't own these Macs (7200, and the original 7500 I
think). I have a PowerCenter clone and a 6100/AV
