Hi gurus

I like to capture video 24 hours per day. But I need to
have some kind indexing system to find individual
programs from
the video stream.

So my choices are:
1) start new capture every minute with time stamp at
the file name --> bad idea, because I might want to
watch 15 minutes video ...

2) start recording 00:00 am and stop 11.59 PM --> good
idea, but how I point to mifdle of the video; for
exsample 2,45 pm ??

Any ideas ?

Thanks advance
Jussi

There is currently there is no system that allows indexing
    of AVI/QT files

You can work around with the with the date of the file, and
know that you have a new file every --max-file-size MB's
Or record only for a certain time -t/--time and start than
    recording again.
