I just downloaded libdv-0.9.5 *.rpm (from the official site) and the 1.6.0 mjpegtools in source form. I've installed libdv and compiled/installed mjpegtools. Now when I try to convert a DV format .avi to .mpg the mpeg2env utility segfaults. Would anybody have any idea what's going on and what I should do to get it to work? Here are a few more details: This is for a DV capture (using dvgrab) of four frames. Just a demo. Mpeg2enc appears to crash no matter the length of the file.
