To download the source just click on mizio and not on the Slackware package.
Just a small correction to the code so that Mizio ends the process of checking the anonymity, closes the port used for accepting proxy headers, removes the not working proxies and displays on the status bar the number of the anonimous proxies. Enjoy it !
For the lovers of GUI I added some GUI options: ability to copy in the clipboard the working proxy, timeout, google results. Export function, ping and country now works ! Go, download and enjoy Mizio !
Stay tuned, the release 0.3 is on the way. Options dialog configuration added who allows choosing how many results get from google, the ability to measure the speed of the proxies and which country they are from.
Improved the anonimity check. Now Mizio looks for your IP in all the received HTTP headers apart for the 'Host:' header. Accuracy is 100% now. Mizio also get the host name by its IP now. Fixed a bug in the proxy retriever code because Google changed the layout of the result page causing Mizio not to retrieve the proxy IP. Mizio gets your IP from www.myip.com instead of using glibc API. I forgot to include this latest enhancements in the ChangeLog sorry !
Within the end of the next week I will release 0.2 version. Google has recently changed the layout of the web page result so Mizio is not able anymore to retrieve the proxy list. This is fixed in the upcoming 0.2 version. I have also completely rewrited the mechanism of checking the anonimity. Now Mizio checks ALL the http headers received. Stay tuned !!
The first initial release of Mizio, a KDE/QT based proxy hunter has been released. With two mouse clicks, Mizio will tell you if a proxy is anonymous. Try it !
Hi,
I'm the project admin. Since I started this project, in July '03, I have been able to build the GUI and to code the part who retrieves the proxies IP from the web through google. Now I'm stopped because of pthreads implementation. I need help to syncronize the threads who take an IP/port from the QListview, connect and sent the GET request. A basic multithreaded server is already coded. If you are skillfull about pthread and network programming please help me. As far as I know there are now GUI like Mizio for Linux around. Thank you,... read more
