Tried again after running mixmaster-update, still no luck.  I forgot to say Postfix was installed automatically too when I installed mixmaster, I did no tweaking there either.  The mail doen't go to junkmail.  What are the chances Gmail or the ISP trashes the mail?  Does this software actually work for anybody?

Also I found this in /var/mail/user:

This is the mail system at host [hostname]

I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not
be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below.

For further assistance, please send mail to postmaster.

If you do so, please include this problem report. You can
delete your own text from the attached returned message.

                   The mail system

<>: connect to[]:25: Connection timed out

The attached delivery report reads as follows:

Final-Recipient: rfc822;
Action: failed
Status: 4.4.1
Diagnostic-Code: X-Postfix; connect to[]:25: Connection timed out

There are multiple such messages in that mail file.

I have no idea what it means.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?

online when installing, and you have empty/bad statistic

Run this command from root and post the ouput

mixmaster-update  --source=george  --verbose
~$ sudo mixmaster-update --source=george --verbose
