Hello,
I'm trying to import non-standart wav-files.
That is mono, 22050. I just decided to change
some bits in sample.c, .h and song.c . Now ther
are two new functions:
gboolean sample_init_wav (Sample *sample, GnomeAppBar *appbar);
gboolean sample_init_raw (Sample *sample, GnomeAppBar *appbar);
And in song.c the program first tries to get the
wav, and after this the raw-file... One should
add some kind of dialog to get the good parameters of the raw-file...
Somebodyh interested in diffs?

Being able to use files of different types and
rates sounds like a nice idea. I was thinking of
an auto-detection/auto-conversion scheme myself.
But these diffs should be submitted to the
developers in order to maintain coherency of
the sources (i.e. what happens sometime down
the road if some great new feature is added
in a new version of Mixmagic that is incompatable
with patches from others?)
The thing is that the developers don't seem to be
anywhere around, and these lists are almost dead,
traffic-wise. I'm having quite a bit of trouble
with Seg Faults here, but I get no response from
the developers.
That's a shame because Mixmagic has a lot
of promise as an easy to use sound file editor,
and I'd like to see its development continue.

Hi,
yes, you are right. Reading through the messages I also thought that there is quit no activity :-( Perhaps this was the guyz first prog or try to GTK, so he let it fall afterwards.
There are quit a couple of things that are disturbing me, mostly with big files (> 50M). For the moment being I try to work with it the way it is. As always: time is missing...
So let's see what Easter brings. Perhaps there is a special egg for MixMagic ;-) Anyway, I think I'll keep on hacking a bit.

my posting in the help area was also not answered, so I mailed directly to the developers.
Do you know about "PROTUX" ?
If not, so take a look at: http://protux.sourceforge.net/
because I think it's also a good program with a good concept.
But don't be angry if there is no directly reply, because the author make a short break for 1 or 2 weeks.

Hi,
the development of MixMagic has transfered from Jonas Borgstrm to me, Thomas Nyberg. I am currently rewriting the entire project - adding interesting features and increasing it's capacity. The goal is(among others) to provide support for files >2Gb...
However, since I'm in school and other things - it has taken me some time - and I am far from done. I hope, to eventually reach the old state of usability - and then I'll make a release. In the meantime, please be patient with me.
Regards,
Thomas

Hi Thomas, how much progress have you made on this so far? I would be interested in contributing to this project if you are still actively developing.
Let me know. Best wishes, Bill.
