I'm getting ready to attempt Misterhouse again. I played with it about a
year ago, but didn't have much time. Coupled to the fact that I had just
moved and didn't have many of my X10 modules installed yet, and you can see
why it got moved to the back burner.
My question is, I am currently in the market for an alarm system for my
home. I need wireless sensors, do not need/want professional monitoring
service, and I want to be able to at least see events with MH, or possibly
even control to the point of arm/disarm via MH. I don't need X10 control,
unless that is how I have to interface for MH. A voice dialer to call my
cell phone would be nice, but I can handle that with MH.
I looked at X10 alarm systems, but they seemed too insecure in the fact that
there was no code required to arm and disarm them. I do need to keep this
as low-cost as possible, so that was the advantage of an X10 system.
So if anyone has any suggestions as to what I could pick up, it would be
greatly appreciated. Wired can be done if price point requires it, but it
would not be an easy job due to the layout of my house.
Thanks in advance!
