Hi, I saw that MH can be controlled from Windows Media Center here : http://misterhouse.wikispaces.com/Tom I'd kindly ask for some more info how this can be achieved and what would be easiest way to achieve that ? Thanks in advance, regards, Rob. |

Hi, maybe it's funny, but just ran across usefull solution, but in reverse direction, MH could control MCE over TCP port : http://www.kindel.com/Default.aspx?tabid=25 But I'm still after solution in another direction.... Someday I'll update the page to explain what was done. Basically I just made a few web pages to fit in with the MCE style using information from the Media Center SDK. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/mediacenter/developer/ I used includes in the pages that called other web pages - no fancy java going on :-) snippet of the file calling the other pages. case "cool_high": {setTimeout("window.navigate('../HVAC/cool_to_high.shtml')",500);break;} case "cool_low": {setTimeout("window.navigate('../HVAC/cool_to_low.shtml')",500);break;} case "heat_high": {setTimeout("window.navigate('../HVAC/heat_to_high.shtml')",500);break;} case "heat_low": {setTimeout("window.navigate('../HVAC/heat_to_low.shtml')",500);break;} case "HVAC_off": {setTimeout("window.navigate('../HVAC/HVAC_off.shtml')",500);break;} case "all_off": { setTimeout("window.navigate('http://10.0.0.91/ia5/CM15A/alloff.pl')",500); break; } case "all_on": { setTimeout("window.navigate('http://10.0.0.91/ia5/CM15A/allon.pl')",500); break; } case "couch_off": { setTimeout("window.navigate('http://10.0.0.91/ia5/CM15A/couch_off.pl')",500); break; } case "couch_on": { setTimeout("window.navigate('http://10.0.0.91/ia5/CM15A/couch_on.pl')",500); break; } I've attached a tarball of my web directory.. extract it to your ia5 folder so the extracted content looks like ia5/mce for example, the HVAC pages are in web/ia5/mce/HVAC My MCE machine then just calls the main page and I now have control of the most commonly used MH functions from my couch :-) I use variable from some code I modified for my own use and used some variable in the MH.ini file so it won't work out of the box. Let me know if you have any other questions about what I've done.. Good Luck... --tom Robert Rozman wrote: > Hi, > > maybe it's funny, but just ran across usefull solution, but in reverse > direction, MH could control MCE over TCP port : > > http://www.kindel.com/Default.aspx?tabid=25 > > But I'm still after solution in another direction.... > > Regards, > > Rob. > > ----- Original Message ----- From: "Robert Rozman" <ro...@fr...> > To: "The main list for the MisterHouse home automation program" > <mis...@li...> > Sent: Tuesday, January 30, 2007 9:48 AM > Subject: [mh] Controling MH from Windows Media Center ? > > > >> Hi, >> >> I saw that MH can be controlled from Windows Media Center here : >> http://misterhouse.wikispaces.com/Tom >> >> I'd kindly ask for some more info how this can be achieved and what >> would be >> easiest way to achieve that ? >> >> Thanks in advance, >> >> regards, >> >> Rob. >> >> >> ------------------------------------------------------------------------- >> >> Take Surveys. I've updated the wikispace (http://misterhouse.wikispaces.com/Tom ) to include more information such as how to create a link that shows up in Media Center 2005.
