I *think* I understand. As far as I know the W800 cannot receive the 48 bits, so it probably truncates it to the 32 bits it can receive. A bit beyond me at the moment, and it doesn't sound like anyone using misterhouse is using the rfxcom receiver together with the rfxpower module. That seemingly would get over the 32 bit problem, but still soemone would need to write the perl to decode & store the data. :( Thanks for your input. Much Appreciated. -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/RFXPower-with-a-w800---tf3721181.html#a10439816 Sent from the Misterhouse - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

Declan, I not familiar with the RFXcom and RFXpower devices. However, I did a good chunk of the work on the current RF code. So, let me provide a little input based on my understanding of what you need. I am not sure how the W800RF32 would handle 6 byte data internally. If it sends all data it gets out the serial port, then it can be parsed. However, the current code is designed for 4 bytes of data as that was what everything anyone had seen was generating at the time the code was written. What would need to happen is that X10_W800.pm would have to be modified to send in longer strings of data into decode_rf_bytes in X10_RF.pm. decode_rf_bytes could then be modified to chew off as many bytes as necessary and return the number of bytes it used. decode_rf_bytes would have to look at the first few bytes and determine that the data it is seeing is data from an RFXpower device. As a side affect, if decode_rf_bytes is modified to take a variable number of bytes. Some similar changes as were made to X10_W800.pm would need to be made to X10_MR26.pm would need to be made. Though, they would be just be minimal changes to handle the new calling convention as the MR26 wouldn't really be able to process this data. Then, device specific module for the RFXpower module would need to be written that completely parsed the data. This would be done like the other X10_RF_*.pm modules. The data from the RFXpower module sounds like it is going to represent a number as opposed to a state like ON or OFF. So, a way to present the information to the rest of the application would need to be devised. For example, for the security modules (parsed in X10_RF_security.pm) set the state of an RF_Item (handled in RF_Item.pm). If you wanted to define this item in one of the table formats (as opposed to just manually creating the object in your user code), then read_table_A.pl and read_table_xml.pl would have to be modified. Unfortunately, this isn't a plug and play because it doesn't look like anyone has had these modules before and coded them into misterhouse. Jim and Greg (and others who have Somfy motorized shades\awning), Is the Somfy motorized device "universal" so it can be added to "any" shade, or are they only bundled with specific shade manufacturers. If I add the following to items.mht it dosen't say the:"WARNING! PA Zones were not found!": PA, A1, hall_pa, Hall, weeder, X10 But if the pa.mht is present it says: Table format not recognized: file=pa.mht mhp_file=./../mainhouse-code/pa.mhp. --- start pa.mht --- # # Type Address Name Groups Serial Name Other # PA, A1, hall_pa, Hall, weeder, X10 --- end pa.mht--- --- start pa.mhp --- # #@ Do NOT edit this file. It was auto-generated from pa.mht. # # Category = Other --- end pa.mhp--- The only thing i want is to have a X10 applience to turn on when speech or audio is played. And off when finnished... I tried this, on startup Misterhouse says: WARNING! PA Zones were not found! Your *.mht file probably dosen't list the PA zones correctly. I have a PA.mht in my code directory.
