MessageThey are all the same, apart from the different colours or the ones that have been overclocked. Make sure you get the 3Com USB Ethernet adapter with it, they are expensive on their own. There is a custom MisterHouse image called MrAudrey that removes a lot of trial and error :) Just fill in a few parameters and it's good to go. Also has a superb online package download facility. Full marks to Pete F. While the Audrey has a built in calendar, MrAudrey uses the standard MisterHouse calendar via a web browser, so it's accessible via the net. Finally the killer application (for me) is the digital photo album, that starts up if the MisterHouse web interface hasn't been used for a few minutes and displays random photos from the thousands in our archive. My wife loves it too, which scored a lot of points... Subject: [misterhouse-users] what can I do with an Audrey and MH? I have pretty much ignored the Audrey threads on MH until I thought how nice it would be to replace our paper family calendar with a touch-pad entry device in the kitchen that could easily add to a calendar accessible from anywhere in the house or from the internet. The small size of the Audrey and touchpad input capability appeal to me. I assume folks have put together a MH image that gives the same sort of functionality as accessing MH via a PC and webserver? But I also like the idea of using the Audrey to surf the internet via an ethernet connection to broadband without the fan noise and bulkiness of most laptops. I have other machines that run MH so the Audrey would be a remote entry panel to me as much as anything else. Any comments would be appreciated. Also, what Audrey to buy or not to buy would be appreciated too. Thanks, Lincoln |
