regarding IR send/receive, i'm using Red Rats with a serial cable going to my PC from each. I have 3 equipment racks on different floors. The serial cable goes from my computer to the equipment racks and there sits a red rat. It's very easy to send IR to the red rats and then out to your equipment. Also I have a red rat at my pc so that I can sample the codes from the remotes. But that's a one time affair, really - you don't need to spend the extra $ for that one. i recommend Red Rat for ease of programming - using IR Commander and the x10 IR sender thing is difficult because you are limited to how many commands you can store in the x10 thing's memory. VERY limited. Red Rat is far more straightforward. _________________________________________________________________ Unlimited Internet access for only $21.95/month.
