Thanks Bill - I'm only using one device on COM3 at the same time; I simply switched things around to see if it was in the syntax for the serial_modem_port=COM3 The result is that COM3 returns that error, regardless of what device I configure on COM3. Also, not trying to do callerid and data modem at same time. Question was whether anyone had tried that using the stop/start commands. In fact, I removed ALL .pl files from my code directory, so there are no intranet, modem, nor phone activities being attempted. The error is upon initialization of the port definition in the mh.ini file. Agreed, a non-standard driver and/or other non-mh software using the COM3 port could cause problems. But there is no other software in use, and I'm using the standard Microsoft Windows port driver for the COM3 port. -- Dean -----Original Message----- From: Bbi...@ao... Since the modem is using COM3, you won't be able to put a CM17 on it. Also, the CalledID function may use a non-standard serial driver (active all the time, for example), which would account for the "invalid handle" reports. -bill __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
