I have tried that with a winmodem and have not had any luck. I was wondering if your port settings data type was defined as "raw" in your mh.ini? I have had luck with the reporting of on or of hook but that was only with my modemblaster. Thank You Larry -----Original Message----- From: mis...@li... Subject: Re: [misterhouse-users] Test for Phone Off-Hook Hi Craig I just stopped my modem from within MH and ran Hyperterminal. I connected to the com port belonging to the modem. Just type AT (return) and you should see ok. I then just gave it the command at#cls=8. It reported ok. I plugged a phone in the jack of the rear of the modem. Every time I lifted the handset I got a DTE t show on the screen followed by DTE h when ever I replaced the phone. I have not written this into MH as yet but there is no reason it could not be done. The only other point is you must use the phone jack on the modem, just plugging a phone into the line elsewhere will not get detected. You can do a great deal more with the modem, I am working on some bits at the minute but not sure how they will go as yet. Some of the fancy voice commands must be done at 38400 so you could always try that. If you want to read the full AT Command stuff I've dropped it onto my website feel free to take a copy at http://www.galeforce9.btinternet.co.uk/AT_commands.htm It's a long doc around 380k, happy reading.
