I have swapped out a new DS10 to see if it was something with the old one and I still hit these on occasion. I haven't had time to look into it any further.  For me it isn't a reception issue back to the w800 because when the ds10 sends out a state update later it still thinks it's open so sends another open message.  (That and the sensor is maybe 10 feet from the antenna).  The door does have an autoclose (springed) hinge and is an exterior door so it can close kindof heavy.  But the sensor is on the wall with just the magnet on the door.

Thom,

Some ideas;

Are you standing in between the module and antenna on the W800? A human body
will block the signal.

The "magnetic sensor" is mechanical in the module - it is possible that the
vibration from
the slam will affect it, the other is battery contacts could be interrupted
by the slam.

Not to necro an old thread, but I just noticed the following last
night with the sensor on my front door.

If I open and close the door carefully (ie no slamming or closing hard
as it is a wooden door) it registers properly on both the open and the
close.

If I try and close the door a little harder (the latch is a little
sticky) it doesn't register the close.

Now the only issue or part of the issue I suspect that is causing
this, I have the sensor mounted to the door, rather than the door
frame. I am going to reverse it tonight and see if that makes a
difference.

I am just starting with my door sensors  which is why I am posting now.
