Thanks Bill.  That was really helpful.  It turns out that I had the unit installed correctly, but did not have my user code setup correctly.  I had already established INSTEON_IOLINC in my setup file, but had not known how to obtain the sensor (sense) state changes from the device.  After reading your post, I went back and looked into the options for INSTEON_IOLINC items and found that I needed to add $garage_outer_front_sensor = new Insteon::IOLinc_sensor($garage_outer_front); as part of my start up routines so that I could utilize the sense portion of the module in my user code.

At this point my issue is solved and I can now use the module in my user code.

If I understand your setup correctly, I may have a very similar setup with an outdoor flood light and a 2476 with Sense. It works great and your 2475S2 should work the same.

First, you have to be comfortable rewiring your motion controlled flood light. Be aware that you need to disconnect the power to the flood light before opening it up. Also be aware that it may not have been designed to be rewired. Do not do this unless you know how to do it safely. Otherwise, please get someone else who is. Please! These are NOT low voltage lines.

Open up the outdoor flood light and connect the motion controlled line of the flood light to the the Sense line of the 2475S2. That's all you need to do, but you need to know electrical wiring to do it safely.

If you don't know how to tell which is the motion controlled line of the flood light or if you don't know how to connect to it safely, get someone who does to do it.

If you've done this correctly, the 2475 will turn on and off in parallel with the flood light; and it will send out ON and OFF INSTEON signals. If you want other devices to respond to these signals, you will have to link them as well. Misterhouse is an excellent choice for that linking.

Hi,

I have two In-LineLinc Relay Switches with Sense (2475S2) and I have not been able to find a good way to set them up so that I can tell when the connected motion sensor has activated.  These are connected to outdoor garage flood lights with motion sensors.  What I am looking for is a set of responses similar to the Insteon Motion Sensor (2842-222 or 2420M).

  • How do I setup misterhouse to give Motion Sensor (2842-222 or 2420M) responses for In-LineLinc Relay Switch with Sense (2475S2)?
