I use a shell script to launch the services that MH depends on (as well as MH) as part of startup of one user on a linux system.

Subject: [mh] PulseAudio daemon not launched?

I am finally rebuilding my MH system after a failure of my server a few months back.  I had never got audio working in the past, but I thought I'd give it a shot this time.

Historically, I would get a message like such:

ALSA lib pulse.c:229:(pulse_connect) PulseAudio: Unable to connect: Connection refused

From the post here: http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.comp.misc.misterhouse.user/29376

I determined that I needed to uncomment #load-module module-native-protocol-tcp in /etc/pulse/default.pa

What I see is that PA doesn't get launched by MH.  I need to run, pulseaudio -D first, if I want audio to work.

Do any of you have a good workaround for this?
