MiniOS is a lightweight, modular Linux distribution based on Debian, designed for portable use from USB drives and other removable media. It can run as a live system, copy itself to RAM, and save user changes between sessions. MiniOS uses SquashFS modules, supports flexible persistence modes, and provides tools for installation, session management, kernel management, and working with system modules. Several editions are available for everyday use, system administration, rescue work, and advanced tasks. The project focuses on speed, portability, reliability, and a simple out-of-the-box experience.
