Can I complile and install MiniDLNA on a Buffalo TeraStation Pro V1 which has Firmware 1.12 with Samba 3.0.37 currently runnng ushare. Telnet and SSH accessible.
I've done this with a Buffalo Linkstation but it was a lot of work - wiped the disk and installed debian squeeze, gcc, various libraries and compiled minidlna on the Buffalo itself and then configuring all the services (samba...) . Or you setup a cross compile environment to match whats on the buffalo now and build minidlna and then install it on the buffalo. I decided to ditch the buffalo OS since it's pretty limited and easy to brick with their updaters.
Thanks for you reply. It sounds like too much trouble to get it to work for 1 device which is my Samsung 46" LED set. All my other DLNA compatible devices work well with uShare my current media server along with Samba 3.
