#98 Sony Bravia JPEG 4:4:4 subsampling support

Sony Bravia TV's (like my KDL-46EX725) only support JPEG images with YCbCr 4:2:2 or 4:2:0 chroma subsampling. JPEG YCbCr 4:4:4 is not supported If you edit pictures with Photoshop or PaintShop and save them with 4:4:4 chroma subsampling (which is the default in most cases) the pictures will not render on the Bravia TV's.

Attached is a hack which solves the issue by transcoding the images. Additionally the images are resized to the screen resolution (the resizing of the Bravia sucks!)

Sorry, I'm not a developer. I have used the raspberry pi package. Is it possible to use the patch here? Or do i have to use the patch first, then compile everything and bring it to the raspberry?

No need to develop, just compile. Check on how to compile software for your distro and platform, then apply patch.
