Hi, just started looking into DNLA and have played a little with tvmobili.
However, wondering if anyone here has used and can share their experiences in how
to connect an ubuntu server running MiniDNLA to this Sony Bravia kdl-40v3000

Just looking for a few pointers to get myself jump started.

    Thanks

From my quick scan of the specs, your Sony doesn't have DLNA, Upnp or even an ethernet port. If that is correct you'll need a DLNA compliant 'client' box. I use a Buffalo LinkTheater to hook up my dumb TV but there are many others that should work.

If the Sony does have DLNA and ethernet or wifi then just install and configure minidlna on ubuntu and it might work perfectly. My linktheater  does work with minidlna on Ubuntu 10.10
