Currently the only time that the media directory is scanned is at start up. Would there be a way to add a mechanism so that the media directory would be scanned again after a random interval, or even an external function which could force scan and update the database while miniDLNA was still running?
I'm not sure about your setup. but I'm using version 1.0.25 on a DNS-323. Once I got inotify working my system updates as
files are added.
I'm running 1.0.25, but I never see the database get updated after I add new files.
I guess it would depend on what hardware you are using. What level of Linux. Whether inotify is available, You might try the setting of inotify in the minidlna.conf file in the etc directory. Its default value is yes. Change it to no. This is supposed to cause it to check at some random time schedule.
