I thought I'd pass along a tiny hack. I've got a Panasonic Viera TV and when browsing through the music it doesn't display the songs in an album in track order. The TV asks for sorting by dc:date. Bad Bad TV! There maybe other devices that do that too.
It's an easy hack and has the pleasant side effect of sorting movies by title instead of by date. I'm using minidlna 1.10 and in upnpsoap, function parse_sort_critera - line 531 for me. It now looks like this
// strcatf(&str, "d.DATE");
// CJC Hack
strcatf(&str, "d.DISC, d.TRACK");
It's not a pretty hack and I'm not markdown capable.
